Sundance Resources in Africa

The development of the Mbalam-Nabeba Iron Ore Project will deliver significant economic, environmental and social benefits to both Cameroon and the Republic of Congo, in Central Africa.

The Project will have a direct multi-billion financial benefit to these countries, creating thousands of jobs and providing many direct and indirect business opportunities for local communities over the life of the mine (currently estimated at 30+ years).

It will be the first mining project of scale in Cameroon and will support the development of key regional infrastructure including a deepwater port at Lolabé, an access corridor from the port to the mine at Mbalam, and ultimately the reticulation of power across southern Cameroon. Skills development associated with the Project is expected to be a catalyst for further industrial development in the country.

In addition, the infrastructure established for the project could, subject to agreement, facilitate the economic development of a number of regional iron ore prospects in Cameroon and Congo.
